We cannot promise romance, but there’s bound to be a Valentine’s flavour to our club meeting on Monday 13th February, in Dunboyne Castle Hotel, at 8 pm sharp. Guests are always welcome to attend free of charge. They can expect innovative impromptu speaking and four inspiring speeches from our members. Don’t worry, guests will not be asked to speak, unless they wish to do so.

Congratulations to Phoenix-Tara Toastmasters’ members – President, Marion Smyth, Area 16 Governor, John Dineen, Conor Hayes and Colm Woods who featured on Radio 1′s Countrywide programme this morning. They were interviewed by Damien O’Reilly, who attended our recent visitors’ night, about their reasons for joining Toastmasters and the benefits they have gained.

A very successful visitors’ night last night (Monday 23rd January). Twelve visitors including Damien O’Reilly from Radio 1′s ‘Countrywide’. We hope to be featured on his programme in the coming weeks. Prizes were awarded as follows: best contribution – Mairead Murphy, best speech: Colm Woods, best evaluation: Margaret McDonald and best topic response: John Dineen.

Good luck to Phoenix-Tara’s Ann McCullagh, who represents the club in the Area 16 Tall Tales final, tomorrow night in The Springfield Hotel, Leixlip. Hosted by Lucan Toastmasters, representatives from Dunboyne, Castleknock, Navan, Clondalkin, Glasnevin and Lucan will do battle for the Tall Tales honours. Current Area 16 evaluation winner, Vincent Kirby, will deliver his excellent evaluation workshop at the contest. Good luck to all contestants.
