Congratulations to our VP Education, Clare O’Neill, who won the Toastmaster of the Year award at our AGM last night. Well done also to the Most Improved Toastmaster, Colm Woods. They are worthy recipients. Toastmaster, John Dineen, won the best contribution of the meeting prize. Welcome aboard to our 10th new member this year, Jason Donoghue. We had side splitting comedy from Conor, more comedy from his evaluator, John Murtagh and a dramatisation of ‘The Beauty Queen of Leenane’ from Christina.

Best wishes to our Division C representatives at the WOW Conference in Wexford this weekend – our Area 16 winner, Eric Fitzpatrick from Glasnevin in the International Speech contest, and Philip O’Callaghan from Clontarf-Marino in the evaluation contest.

The election of officers for 2012-2013 takes place at our next meeting on Monday night. Following this, it will be business as usual with prepared speeches from members. Rowling’s commencement address by Christina. Awards were presented as follows: best contribution, Bosco Farrell; best speech, Padraic Doherty; best evaluation, Donal Keating: and best topic response, Colm Woods.
